Crack sealer or crack filler — which one does your lot need?
The two get used interchangeably, and they are not the same product. A crack sealer is the professional-grade material: rubberized asphalt that arrives as solid blocks, melts in a kettle on the truck, and goes into the crack hot, where it bonds to the crack walls and stays flexible for years — which matters, because cracks on Texas clay are alive, opening and closing with every wet-dry cycle. How hot-pour crack sealing is actually done
The sealer rides to the job in a melter kettle running around 350 to 400 degrees.
